AsAsked Terms of Use

These prelaunch terms describe the approved Free and Personal launch policy and legal framework for AsAsked, a Chrome extension from Vellumstead Labs LLC. They are not the final purchase terms until the exact Arizona venue county and public business mailing address are inserted and checkout opens.

Review status: checkout is closed. The policy framework is approved, but the exact venue county and public business mailing address remain pending publication. No purchase can be initiated from the current website, and no subscription begins by reading this page.

1. The service and launch plans

AsAsked provides reviewable assessments of whether a completed AI response appears to follow listed user instructions. It can extract and edit requirements, run local deterministic checks, show evidence, save a local trace, and prepare a focused follow-up draft.

Free includes 20 completed local audits per UTC calendar month, one active conversation ledger, review and correction tools, the manual checker, unsent drafts, and local export and deletion. Personal includes unlimited on-device audits, multi-turn requirement carry-forward, opt-in saved local history, reusable local rules, and activation on up to three Chrome installations. Both plans use the same checker.

The initial public offer is available only in English to individuals who are at least 18 years old and located in the United States. It does not include a free trial. The Free plan remains available without a purchase.

2. Personal price, renewal, and cancellation

The planned Personal price is $12 USD per month or $99 USD per year. When checkout opens, the selected term will renew automatically until canceled. Applicable tax, the billing interval, and the total due will be shown by Lemon Squeezy before payment. Vellumstead Labs may change future prices with notice required by applicable law; a price shown in an existing order controls until a valid change takes effect.

A customer may cancel through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal or request help from AsAsked support. Cancellation stops future renewal. Personal remains available through the signed paid-through time and then falls back to Free without deleting local ledgers or rules.

3. Refunds, disputes, and purchase recovery

A customer may request a full refund within 14 calendar days after the applicable purchase. There is no usage-based eligibility test. Any non-waivable cancellation, refund, or consumer-protection rights provided by applicable law remain in effect.

Send the request from the purchase email address or include the Lemon Squeezy order ID. A refund request must never include the license key. Lemon Squeezy processes the refund. Vellumstead Labs targets a first response within two business days and a resolution within five business days; provider, legal, or payment-network review may take longer, and those timeframes are service targets rather than guarantees.

When a refund is completed, Personal access ends and AsAsked falls back to Free. Local ledgers, history, and rules remain on the device unless the user deletes them. A completed chargeback, provider revocation, or unresolved payment failure may also end Personal access. Customers should use the provider order email or portal for purchase recovery and must not send a license key to support.

4. Activation, installations, and offline access

Personal is licensed to the purchaser for up to three active Chrome installations. The purchase key is entered only for activation and may not be sold, shared, published, or used to exceed the activation limit. A user can remove the license from one browser before activating another or request a support reset.

A trusted signed entitlement can preserve Personal for at most seven days after the last successful online validation. Payment-past-due grace also lasts no more than seven days. Grace is not extended locally. Expiration, cancellation after the paid-through time, refund, chargeback, or revocation falls back to Free.

5. Results require user review

Requirements, evidence, verdicts, and drafts may be incomplete, inaccurate, or affected by changes to a supported AI site. Users remain responsible for reviewing the underlying request and response before relying on a result or sending a draft.

6. No fact or professional certification

AsAsked does not fact-check, certify truth, guarantee answer quality, verify that an external action occurred, or provide legal, medical, financial, safety, or other professional validation. It checks instruction-following only. Personal changes local capacity and continuity, not the checker or its accuracy.

7. Drafts remain under user control

AsAsked can insert a repair or clarification draft into an empty supported message box or copy it for review. It does not automatically send, publish, purchase, approve, or execute anything. The user controls submission through the host service.

8. Local data and third-party services

Free works without an AsAsked account. Personal uses Lemon Squeezy for checkout and an accountless Vellumstead licensing broker for entitlement operations. Conversation content is not part of billing or licensing requests. Local and licensing data controls are described in the AsAsked Privacy Policy. Lemon Squeezy, ChatGPT, and Chrome are third-party services governed by their own terms and policies. Vellumstead Labs does not control their availability or interface changes.

9. Availability and changes

Supported page behavior may stop working when the host site changes. Vellumstead Labs may update AsAsked to preserve security, privacy, compatibility, billing, or product boundaries. Planned features that are not in the shipped extension are not included merely because they are discussed on a roadmap or support page.

10. Responsible use

Users must follow applicable law and the terms of the browser and host services. Users must not use AsAsked to interfere with a service, bypass access controls, violate another person's rights, or misrepresent an AsAsked result as a factual, safety, or professional certification.

11. Warranty disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AsAsked is provided “as is” and “as available.” Vellumstead Labs does not warrant that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every host-site change, or suitable for a particular decision. This disclaimer does not limit warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be disclaimed.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vellumstead Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from AsAsked or these terms. Its aggregate liability for all claims arising from AsAsked or these terms will not exceed the greater of the fees the customer paid for AsAsked during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or $100 USD. These limits do not apply where, or to the extent, applicable law does not permit them.

13. Suspension, termination, and indemnity

A user may stop using AsAsked at any time. Vellumstead Labs may suspend or terminate access only when reasonably necessary for a material breach of these terms, fraud or abusive use, a credible security risk, nonpayment, or compliance with law. Any action will be limited to the scope reasonably necessary. Suspension or termination does not by itself delete locally stored AsAsked data.

To the extent permitted by law, a user will indemnify Vellumstead Labs against a third-party claim to the extent it results directly from that user's unlawful use of AsAsked, willful misuse of AsAsked, or violation of another person's rights. This obligation does not cover Vellumstead Labs' own negligence or willful misconduct and does not apply where prohibited by law.

14. Governing law and disputes

Arizona law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except that non-waivable consumer protections continue to apply. The parties will bring disputes in the state or federal courts located in the Arizona county of Vellumstead Labs' principal office. The final published terms will name that county before checkout opens.

These terms do not require mandatory arbitration and do not include a class-action waiver. Nothing in these terms limits a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow the parties to waive.

15. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A user may not assign these terms without written consent. Vellumstead Labs may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of the relevant business or assets, subject to applicable law. Neither party is responsible for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control. A failure to enforce a provision once is not a continuing waiver.
